Contemporary Abstract Artist
Based in Toronto, ESSI ART is the contemporary art practice of Essi, a contemporary abstract artist focused on original paintings that explore color, geometry, movement, and texture.
Each work develops through a deliberate process of layering, balance, and experimentation. Precise geometric structures often meet expressive color and texture, creating compositions that shift between order and spontaneity.
Rather than following a single visual formula, the work continues to evolve through exploration—each painting becoming an individual study of form, energy, and atmosphere.

Creative Method of a Contemporary Abstract Artist
THE ARTIST’S PROCESS
Each artwork begins with an idea—sometimes inspired by color, geometry, movement, texture, or the atmosphere of a space. Rather than following a completely predetermined composition, I allow the work to evolve naturally throughout the creative process.
Layers of color, texture, and mixed media are gradually built and refined, creating relationships between form, surface, depth, and negative space. Materials and techniques may vary from one work to another, allowing each piece to develop its own visual language and character.
Some works demand precise geometric structure, while others develop through a more intuitive and expressive approach. This balance between control and spontaneity is an essential part of my practice.
The process continues until the composition reaches a sense of balance and visual completeness. Every artwork is individually created by hand, resulting in an original piece with its own surface, character, and presence.
